Hemantika Auditions

Hemantika is SBDC’s annual festival which is celebrated every autumn. On this 10th year, we intend to present the festival events spreading over 12 months: Nov 2025 – Nov 2026, in different venues across London, Bradford, Barcelona and other parts of the UK.

All SBDC students, for the last 9 years, had the opportunity and privilege of performing at the festival but on the 10th year we would like to offer this opportunity through auditions and to those, who are beyond SBDC, learning one of the Indian classical styles. 

​

Audition dates: 08/08/25 and 22/08/25

​

In August, we will be holding workshop style auditions for three categories. Dancers will be attending a 70 minute-long class, led by Sujata Banerjee MBE and we will select between 12 - 15 dancers for each category. 

​

If interested, please fill  the google form and apply, indicating the category.  Google form is required only if you are applying for Category C2

C1: 10 – 14-year-olds SBDC students only. 

​

C2: 15 + Open to SBDC and beyond (Min 5+ years of experience)

​

C 3: Any SBDC adult students with minimum 2 years’ experience

Please note the two dates are announced to accommodate more participants and offer a second chance to those who may be unavailable on the first date. You are required to attend only one of the days. 

​

Participations will be refused if payment is not made at least 24 hours before. 

​

If chosen, the rehearsals will be held generally on Friday evenings between Sept – Nov (in Harrow).
