Job Description - Operations Manager

Reports into – Artistic Director Hours – 15 hours per week Salary - £30,000 pro rata (6 months contract, part-time) Location – Flexible: from home or SBDC locations, when required Start Date: October 25 (negotiable) Virtual Interview: 15/10/21 or 16/10/21 or 18/10/21 Closing date: Sunday 10 October, midnight.

The role of the Operations Manager will be to plan, direct and co-ordinate the operations of SBDC by working closely with the Artistic Director and other staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of SBDC, including but not limited to:

- Overseeing the administration and management of classes

- Project managing the charity's annual festival – Hemantika

- Planning and taking an active role in fundraising for future projects

- Managing all external communications with potential partner organisations

- Partnering with organisations for potential new projects and initiatives

  • Establish or implement goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with the Trustees, Artistic Director and other SBDC representatives.

  • Develop marketing plans and strategies and execute with other SBDC staff

  • The individual will also be responsible for maintaining SBDC's brand and marketing strategy.


Person specification


  • A proven track record of programme and project management, ideally within an arts organisation.

  • An ability to manage budgets and a track record of successfully applying for funding and/or grants.

  • Experience working as a Project Manager/Operations Manager or General Manager of a charity ideally within the arts sector.

  • Experience of managing teams of employees and/or volunteers.

  • Applicants must ideally be DBS cleared and available to start at short notice.
