SBDC is back with its popular Summer Residency in London for 2019. The programme is open to students across a range of abilities:

Level 2 (Intermediate) - Age 13 to adults; learning Kathak for minimum 4 years (dates 23 night to 28 July 2019)

Level 3 (Advanced) - Age 16 to adults; learning Kathak for minimum 8 years (dates 23 to 28 July 2019)

The programme will provide a complete experience of learning dance including kathak technique and repertoire pieces, body conditioning, yoga, movement analysis, introduction to other dance styles, music and other complimentary skills. Participants will come away armed with technical and transferable skills that they can apply to their dance practice, as well as having learnt original performance pieces.

This is also an opportunity to form connections with a wide network of fellow dancers and artists. The Residency will be led by Sujata Banerjee MBE, accompanied by a wide-ranging faculty who are leaders within the sector. The programme also includes two evenings of performances by professional artists.

The Residency is open to UK-based and international dancers. We offer both a residential and non-residential option, but encourage students to stay to maximise their learning and overall experience.

VENUE:

The residency will take place at the University of Hertfordshire, located on the outskirts of London and easily accessible by road and rail. The campus is also easy to reach from Luton, Stansted and Heathrow airports. Participants will be accommodated in single en-suite rooms and meals are included.
